"How-to" Introductory Materials.
Basic Dance:
Arms relaxed with bent elbows (W hold).
One long line; leader is on the R end of the line.
Leader sets the mood and tempo, signals for turns, and decides
when to move into the Basic Hassapiko.
Weight on L foot.
S,S,S,S:
One, two, three, lift:
Moving to R (counterclockwise), leap to R on R foot (L foot kicks to L, as if pushing off), close L to R; repeat twice more; swing L foot across in front of R.Q,Q:
Quick, quick:
Moving to L (clockwise), step to L on L foot, cross R foot in front of L and step on R.Q,Q,Q,Q,Q:
Left swivel, right, left, right, left:
Moving to R (counterclockwise), grapevine to the R (finish with weight on L).S,S:
Cross, cross:
Moving into center, cross R over L, then L over R; bend forward and dip slightly (bend L knee, raise R knee), weight on L.Q,Q,Q,S:
Right, left, right, up:
Moving back out of the center, step on R foot, then L, then R, then raise L foot (bent knee), transferring weight to R.Q,Q,S:
Left, tap, lift:
Moving toward center, step forward on L foot (weight on L), tap R foot by L heel, lift R leg up with bent knee.S,S:
Behind, left, close:
Step back on R foot, step to L on L, close R to L, weight on L.Repeat....
Forward Turn

One, two, three, lift: same as Basic
Q,Q:
Quick, quick: same as Basic.
Q,Q,Q,Q,Q:
Left, right, left, right, left: same as Basic.

Cross, cross: same as Basic...
Leader signals for turn by making circular motion with R hand.
Q,Q,Q,S:
Right, left, right, up:
Moving back out of the center, turn 360 degrees to the R (clockwise) while stepping on R foot, then L, then R (turn is complete), then raise L foot (bent knee), transferring weight to R. (Same number of steps and rythym as basic.)Finish Basic:

Left, tap, lift: Same as Basic.

Behind, left, close: Same as Basic.
Change into Hassapiko
Leader signals by changing to shoulder hold, arms stretched straight.
S,S,S:
Slide R, slide L, Slide R:
R foot to R, close L to R; L foot to L, close R to L; R foot to R, close L to R (weight on R). Repeat as needed until the whole line has "caught on".Move into Basic Hassapiko.
