Costume seen here:
This costume, worn in Metaxades and Evros in Thrace, has as its main
component the foustani, a richly embroidered sleeveless dress worn over a
simpler dress. It often is ornamented with kourfoulithres, two
openings in the front that facilitate breast feeding. A colorful apron and belt
complete the outfit. The apron and belt seen here come from Greece, while
the foustani was sewn and embroidered by Judy's daughter, Karen Tucker.
